The Halo Encyclopedia captures two decades of lore from the “Halo” series. My challenge was to breathe new life into this beloved project, departing from the conventions of its predecessor. The licensor’s mandate was clear: create a visually arresting experience that resonates with modern sensibilities. In close partnership with Microsoft and the 343 studio teams, I created a concept that elegantly merged form and function. Given the substantial content—488 pages of lore, imagery, and insights—we deliberately embraced a clean, minimalist approach. The design structure had to be both robust and adaptable, accommodating diverse content types. Every image and block of text underwent meticulous curation to ensure a perfect fit. The result was a testament to teamwork and creativity, a coffee table book that seamlessly blends nostalgia with contemporary aesthetics.
